During the Summer Term, Dragon Class (Year 4/5) have been learning about coal mining in the local area. To start our topic, we visited the National Coal Museum.

Through our trip, we were able to empathise with miners in the Victorian Times and see firsthand how mining has changed over the past 200 years. Also, we were fortunate to have a special visitor into class who was able to explain how modern mining machines work and what happens to coal once it has been mined.
