This week in our P4C session we looked at this picture of Charlie Bucket outside the sweet shop.

The question we decided upon was ‘Why isn’t he going into the shop?’

We had lots of discussion about how Charlie might feel by looking at his facial expressions and his body language.

It was initially suggested by Angel that Charlie might be angry because he had no money, but Lucy disagreed with this statement as she thought he looked broken hearted and quite confused.

Daniel suggested he looks poor because he has holes in his jumper and he doesn’t have a coat even thought it looks quite cold.

Lacie thinks he looks very sad because he can’t go into the shop as he doesn’t have the money to buy what he wants.
