Strengthening structures

As part of our STEMproject this term, we are going to be designing and building our own Anderson shelters that are strong enough to withstand an air raid! To help us prepare for this, we learned some techniques to strengthen wooden structures, such as cross-pieces and using card triangles to support corner joints. We learned that the triangle is one of the strongest shapes in nature!
