Conisbrough Castle Visit

Year 1 and 2 have been on a very exciting visit today to Conisbrough Castle. As part of their learning on ‘Towers, tunnels and turrets’ they walked around the castle, identifying features and investigating ruins that are left there today. Whilst the children were walking around they saw arrow slits, the keep and features of the great hall.

As part of a learning workshop the children learnt new facts about the castle and the family that used to live there. They were invited to dress up and get into the role of people that worked there as well as work on a human time line to understand exactly how time has passed.

Next week we will be using our visit to create fact sheets on castles and Conisbrough castle. Please come into our classroom to enjoy the finished learning.
