In our modern world we all know our society is full of visual stimulus. Our world is less physically demanding and so we are less coordinated. In EYFS we use a fun, exciting program when children are willing to mark make called ‘squiggle while you wiggle’. Children use magic wands, dough and finger rhymes to warm up gross and fine muscles. We then do active movements onto paper to develop early writing coordination. We use both hands to engage all parts of our brain and to support children who have not yet found their dominant hand.
