We were all so excited about the rain this morning that we decided it was time for some real life learning. We created our own rain gauges to measure the rainfall, discussed why we measure rain in mm,cm and mm, predicted how much rain we thought was falling, watched the local river levels rise, used maps to find our favourite locations to work out if they were likely to flood and even waded into a very large puddle to measure how much it was rising on our play ground as children thought it was going to flood the school! All in all an amazing day of real life, hands on learning!

I love this. They will have gained so much more experience from doing spontaneous learning. They’ll remember this in years to come
