This week we have been taking advantage of the weather and doing lots of outdoor STEM activity.
We started by taking our ‘sorting groups’ maths activity outside.
We then started to look at plants as part of a science investigation, thinking about the different types of plants that we can find around school.
Moving forward, we had a go at planting our own seeds, making a prediction about what would happen. We measured the light in different locations and chose 5 different places to investigate how light affects their growth.
We also did a nature treasure hunt checklist to find and identify common plants around school, including our pond area.
Linking our maths and science together, we used the items we could find around us to make arrays and practice our new group counting skills, using rows and columns to help us.
