As today should have been our class visit to The National Space Centre, we came off our normal timetable this afternoon to complete some extra special challenges! The children turned into NASA astronauts in training, led by Dr Alexander. They found out about completing every day tasks in space, such as cleaning teeth, washing hair and even going to the toilet, from real astronauts aboard the ISS. They then completed a number of Covid-safe challenges, including trying freeze-dried space food, writing upside down, reaction and speed training and teamwork challenges. The children (future astronauts) had a thoroughly enjoyable time, learnt lots and reflected well on how each activity would need to be adapted for work in space.
