Today Y5/6AG kicked off our science week with a practical experiment to see which materials were soluble in water. We then used what we had found out to investigate our own research question, planning a fair test to find our answers. Y5/6AG worked hard to identify the independent and depended variables, as well as the controls. Our questions included: Does the temperature of the water affect how quickly a material dissolves? Does the speed at which the material is stirred have an impact on the time taken for a material to dissolve? Which materials will dissolve?
