Running a kilometre!

As part of our maths learning today, Y5/6AG recapped how to multiply and divide by 1,000 when converting between metres and kilometres. To help us with this, we took to the school field where we used our Captain Teamwork skills to measure out 100m. This surprised some of us as it was much further than the children expected! We then calculated how many times we needed to run along our track to reach 1km. The children then used their problem-solving skills to calculate the number of laps for their team to run a kilometre, half a kilometre and other fractions of a kilometre.
