Ring o ring o roses…

In Y3/4 we visited the historic village of Eyam for the day!

We explored many places such as the museum where we could look at how they plague began and key artefacts and scenes so the children could immerse themselves in the story of the plague.

We also walked to the Boundry stone and overlooked Stoney Middleton. The children even saw an abandoned house which they could link to the barn in their immersive book “Children of Winter.” The children then enjoyed their lunch with a view.

Lastly the children walked into the village of Eyam to enjoy an ice cream with their peers and share their stories of Eyam. They also explored key places such as the school, the plague cottage and paid our respects to George Vickers grave.
