Y5/6 River erosion

As part of our Geography sessions, we have learnt about the features of a river. Today, we built on our learning by finding out about how the speed of the moving water creates erosion, forming features such as meanders and oxbow lakes. We also learnt about deposition and how deltas are formed. To help with our learning, we used sand and water to explore these processes, noting the speed of water and around of sand that was picked up by the water.
