EYFS Assessment

IMG_2262

Children are assessed as they enter our EYFS. Staff make notes of nursery information, home and setting visits, parents comments and interactions/observations of your child. This information is used to inform staff of the age and stage your child is currently working at and to plan for appropriate play activities to impact your child’s learning and development.

Throughout the year staff then build up a unique learning journey and topic folders of work to paint a picture of each unique child and their learning. These are shared with parents on a number of occasions and staff share with families how they can contribute to this on going evidence.

The class teacher analyses and plans next steps from the observations and data collected each half term in order to report achievements to the Local Authority each July.

Parents are kept informed of progress and can speak to a member of the Acorns or Chestnuts team  during morning task times or by making an appointment. They also receive a record of achievement confirming their child’s achievements.
