How Greasbrough supports your children.
Every Kid Healthy Week: What is it?
Every Kid Healthy™ Week is an annual observance created in 2013 to celebrate school health and wellness achievements. Recognised on the calendar of National Health Observances and observed the last full week of April each year, each day of the week shines a spotlight on the great actions schools and families are taking to improve the health and wellness of their kids and the link between nutrition, physical activity, mental health and learning – because healthy kids are better prepared to learn and thrive!
Here are a list of activities we have planned for our children
We hope you have a wonderful week everyone
What is the Daily Mile/Fit in 15?
The Daily Mile is a free, fully inclusive, outdoor initiative that encourages primary school children to walk, jog or run a mile each day in school. It’s a simple scheme that supports classroom learning and improves the children’s confidence, concentration and behaviour. Most importantly, they love it! The Daily Mile takes 15 minutes desk-to-desk and, in that time, most will average a mile. It’s no fuss, fun, and has a huge impact all day and far beyond.
Also at Greasbrough we try to engage children in different types of physical activity so an alternative to the Daily Mile is a 15 minute dance/aerobic activity to get the children’s hearts racing. This is another activity the children love completing to keep themselves healthy.

SEMH and Whole class Scaling Tool
As a school we support all of our learners including staff and identify how they are feeling via our scaling system. During both registrations children and staff will give themselves a number depending on how they are feeling. This allows us to have conversations and identify any support that we can give to our learners. We find that this is a wonderful way to support our well being at Greasbrough.
