Roles & Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities

Within school children carry out a number of roles and responsibilities to support the work of the school. These are very privileged positions and children go through a tough recruitment, selection and training process before being allocated a role. Once appointed children carry out their role enthusiastically and complete a workbook demonstrating skills they have learnt along the way.

In school we currently have:

School Councillors
Sports/Playground Leaders
Junior Librarians
Ground Force Team
Willow Tree Warriors
Science Ambassadors
Restorative Practice (RP) Reps
WMIM (With me in Mind) Ambassadors
Head Boy/Girl
House Captains

"As a member of the Ground Force Team my role involves picking up litter. This makes me feel happy because we are saving the environment and keeping school clean."

"As a Willow Tree Warrior my role involves making sure children are safe online. This makes me feel brave and proud because I can help others."

"As a Playground Leader my role includes taking equipment onto the playground and tidying it up afterwards. This makes me feel happy"

"As a School Councillor my role involves talking to my class about what they want for this school. This makes me feel happy because I was chosen by my peers to do this job."

"As Head Girl my role involves attending Parents' Evening, taking a wreath to the Cenotaph, attending meetings and showing new children around school. This makes me feel happy because I get to do fun jobs and represent the school."

"As Head Boy my role includes being at Parents Evenings, showing new children around school and representing school at meetings. This makes me feel happy about seeing and speaking to parents, staff and children."

"My role as a With Me in Mind Ambassador has helped my confidence in many different ways, such as being able to speak in large groups of people. With Me in Mind has given me many opportunities to learn new skills and help other people with their mental health. I am proud of my role."
