Nemesis
Novel Educational Model, Enabling Social Innovation Skills

Nemesis Projects are projects led by the children, involving community members, parents and governors looking at tackling any issues they have identified in their area. This can be anything from litter picking, developing the local park, parking/traffic outside school, poverty and loneliness.
Children then organise a co-creation lab meeting where they meet with all members of the group who are wanting to support the children in making changes. At the initial meeting there will be introductions and all members will share their expertise and how they can support the project. Before the end of the meeting all members will decide on what they are going to do to support the project. Regular meetings then take place to look at progress made against the current issue.
The length and longevity of the project will depend on the nature of the project. Some projects may quickly come to a resolution e.g. speed limit signs outside schools whereas other projects may take place on a regular basis e.g. children going to the local park monthly for tidy up sessions (litter picking, planting new plants etc).
Throughout the project children reflect on the NEMESIS competencies and evidence how they meet them. Children can then reflect on these competencies and set themselves targets for their next project.
