Family Engagement
Family Engagement Sessions
Throughout the school year we hold numerous sessions where parents and carers are invited into school to work alongside their child. These range from stand alone family engagement sessions to families coming into the classroom to support their child’s learning. These sessions are well attended and we enjoy sharing our learning with our wonderful families. Below are a number of examples of family engagement sessions that have taken place recently.
Our latest family engagement session was a huge success with 12 families creating story sacks to take home. Families chose a book and then created resources to help them retell the story at home.
TT Rockstars Morning
We recently held a whole school TT Rockstars morning. Thank you to the parents and carers who joined us this morning to take part in times table activities with their child.
Multiply Session
We also had a wonderful Multiply session in Y5/6 where we looked at written calculations. The grown ups became the experts then taught their children what they had learnt. Thank you to Miss Newton-Smith from Roughwood for delivering the session.
Science Sparks Family Engagement
Wow – what a fantastic afternoon we had making our own lava lamps and slime. This was the first of many sessions in 2024. Please keep your eye out for future sessions.
DT Learning
We invited our wonderful parents and carers to come support the year 3 and 4 children in their DT learning, making a Sri Lankan Curry! Thank you so much for all of your wonderful support, I think we have some little chefs in the making.
Tudor Banquet
What an absolutely fantastic afternoon in Y5 preparing and hosting a Tudor banquet. First the children prepared and cooked Pottage and Yeoman’s Pudding and then everyone was treated to a sit down Tudor banquet. Thank you to all the parents and carers for joining us nad helping out!
