This week, Chestnuts had a wonderful time exploring the colours and textures of autumn. We began with a crisp autumn walk around the school grounds, collecting beautiful fallen leaves in every shade of red, gold and brown. The children chattered excitedly as they compared the shapes and sizes of their finds – from tiny delicate leaves to big bold ones!
Back in the classroom, we used our special treasures to make leaf prints in clay. Each child gently pressed their leaf into the soft clay to capture all the veins and patterns and the results were amazing!
