Developing our cutting skills in Little Acorns

Look at us developing our cutting skills. The children explored our autumn treasures, using scissors to cut autumn leaves and develop their fine motor skills. As they carefully cut, we discussed the different colours, shapes and sizes of the autumn leaves, encouraging the children to observe and describe what they could see.

The children demonstrated excellent concentration and control as they practiced using the scissors. These activities help strengthen the small muscles in their hands and fingers, supporting the development of their fine motor skills and building the foundations for future pencil control and early writing skills.
