This week in maths we have been learning about partitioning numbers. We have been introduced to a part whole model. At the beginning of the week we explored what the ‘whole’ is and what a ‘part’ is. We used bean bags and a hoop to explore the whole and parts. The whole was 5 bean bags and the parts were how many went inside the hoop and how many went outside.
Then we went outside and made a huge part whole model and the children became the whole and the parts . They were amazing at using the sentence stems.
